At Prisma, authentic connections aren’t a bonus—they’re the foundation. Daily collaboration in tight-knit cohorts and fun extracurriculars turn classmates into friends.

Hear from learners themselves about community at Prisma: from their favorite Clubs and Enrichments, to inside jokes, to what makes our community better than regular school.

Clubs are learner-led groups that meet regularly around shared interests, providing authentic opportunities for Prisma learners to develop leadership skills while building community around their passions. Past examples have included Prisma News, Dungeons & Dragons, and Coding Club, though specific clubs depend entirely on which learners step up to lead each session.
Enrichments are coach-led groups offering more structured learning experiences in topics selected by coaches based on their expertise and interests. Past examples have included Advanced Fiction Book Club, Leadership Enrichment, and Musical Theater Enrichment. The time commitment and format varies by topic and coach.
As Prisma has grown through the years, so have our opportunities for learners to grow their leadership skills. Leadership specific offerings include participating in our student government, Impact Fellows, Duke of Edinburgh Award, National Honor Society, Merit Scholars, technology and math competitions, and more. Learning to lead is built into opportunities for learners across our extracurricular offerings.
Lounges are informal meeting spaces where learners can drop in and socialize around shared interests. These larger groups focus on casual connection and hanging out and can be hosted by either learners or coaches.
Amplifiers are paid partnerships with carefully vetted external organizations like Passport to Broadway, 4th Wall Theatre, Outschool, Coco Coders, and little DESIGN LAB. These specialized programs typically run for 8-10 weeks and include unique learning opportunities beyond what we offer in-house. Costs typically range from $200-450 depending on the program length and materials.
Endeavors are substantial in-person experiences designed as partnerships between parents, Prisma, and external organizations. These multi-day adventures focus on service-learning, outdoor experiences, arts, STEM, and other immersive learning opportunities that extend far beyond what's possible in regular school. Kristen Shroff, CEO
Endeavors are substantial in-person experiences designed as partnerships between parents, Prisma, and external organizations. These multi-day adventures create the milestones and memories that help build lifelong friendships.
"She loved the teamwork activities, where she discovered how much stronger a group can be when everyone supports each other. Most of all, she came home with deep connections and friendships that made her feel part of something truly special. It was an experience that shaped her in the best possible ways."
"When you look back at your school years, there were always these milestones—whether it was a dance, a field trip, or a sports game. I want my kids to have those many times a year, and I want them to be able to say, 'I remember that, and it was awesome.'"
“The active pace and close quarters at the Endeavor offered just enough distraction to minimize the social discomfort while providing instant common ground to spark conversation, break down guards, and allow new friendships to form. It connected my son to Prisma in a way that I think would have taken months otherwise. The bonds forged at the Endeavor have made all the difference to his experience as a new Prismarian.”
“We can create powerful moments that change learners’ lives by changing their mindsets and building skills; we do that by creating a safe environment, pushing them outside of their comfort zones, and helping them reflect meaningfully on the experiences."
