Lower (grades 4-5) & Middle (grades 6-8) School:
- Write a 'hard science fiction' story inspired by real research about environments & adaptations.
- Code a video game for the annual Games for Change competition.
- Design and conduct a scientific experiment involving food.
- Build a real museum exhibit to showcase a lesser-known story from history.
- Use biomimicry concepts and the engineering design process to design a product inspired by an organism's structure or function.
- Write an alternate history story that tells readers how a historical event could have gone differently.
- Write and record an original song with lyrics inspired by a culture you belong to.
High School:
- Conduct a lab experiment determining the chemical contents and pollution level in a local water source.
- Write a children's book illustrating the ways a complex ecosystem maintains its delicate balance.
- Follow the Lean Startup Methodology to design your own innovative business idea.
- Research a pending Supreme Court case and write an Amicus Curiae Brief advocating your position on the issue.
- Code your own GPT to solve a specific user problem.
- Research, curate, cite, and critique the validity of primary & secondary sources about a historical event of your choice to create an Annotated Bibliography.
- Conduct empathy interviews with a focal patient population to design a solution to their medical problem.
